Mission Planner

Mission Planner creates waypoint, 2D mapping, 3D mapping and POI routes. It helps you review coverage, flight parameters and estimated effort together, then export a supported DJI mission.

Open tool

How to use it

  1. New mission

Open Mission Planner and click “New mission”.

  2. Enter a name and heights

Enter a mission name and set the flight height and minimum height.

  3. Create the mission

Select the mission type and an aircraft from your fleet, then click “Create mission”.

  4. Place map points

Depending on the mission type, place waypoints, mapping-area corners or the POI. Move the points until the intended area is covered.

  5. Adjust the left-hand settings

Adjust speed, overlap and other capture or flight parameters in the left-hand menu as needed. Review flight lines, warnings, estimated flight time and battery reserve.

  6. Save the mission

Check the complete route, heights and obstacles. Click “Save mission” before exporting.

  7. Choose an export and transfer method

Use “Download DJI mission” to download a KMZ for manual transfer to the RC2. Alternatively, download the RC2 Transfer ZIP and use our RC2 Transfer tool. Both methods are explained below.

  8. Verify on the RC2

Open the transferred mission on the controller and check its route and parameters before flying. Follow the numbered order for multipart missions.

Transfer KMZ manually

First create a small waypoint mission on the RC2. Connect it to Windows by USB, locate that mission’s folder and back up its contents. Replace its original mission file with the matching KMZ export, keeping the filename expected by the destination folder. Multipart missions need additional matching destination missions.

Transfer with RC2 Transfer

Create enough dummy missions on the RC2, download the RC2 Transfer ZIP from Mission Planner and use our Windows utility. It assigns the parts to existing slots and backs up the files before replacing them.

Open RC2 Transfer

What you get

Saved missions can be reopened and adjusted. The export is a planning file and still requires verification on the target device.

What to check

Flight time and battery reserve are estimates. Routes do not guarantee obstacle clearance; verify heights and terrain on site. Acknowledging a height warning does not replace a required authorization.

Common questions

Save or export blocked?

Review highlighted inputs, geometry, flight heights and acceptance of the current terms.

Mission missing on the RC2?

Check the file format, mission folder and target mission. Use the intended RC2 Transfer utility and its instructions; not every aircraft supports every export.
