SKYMISSION

Background

Why SkyMission was created

Background

SkyMission grew from more than 15 years of practical experience in professional drone operations. A wide variety of operations were accompanied over many years, including flights by day and night, in demanding weather, and under conditions requiring greater planning, safety, and reliability. This practical experience followed the development of drones from early systems to today’s increasingly professional and regulated applications.

Created from operational practice

As regulation advances, operators must consider weather, geozones, legal requirements, operational procedures, documentation, and individual risks together. Few solutions bring this information together practically in one place. SkyMission was created because a tool the developer would have wanted to use was missing from daily flight operations.

Philosophy

SkyMission supports drone operators; it does not replace their expertise or responsibility. Responsibility for a safe and lawful operation always remains with the responsible remote pilot. The platform helps present relevant information clearly, consider possible risks systematically, and document decisions traceably. Its purpose is informed preparation, not automated decision-making.

Practice-oriented development

Workflows follow real operational requirements and are intended to support pilots and organizations without unnecessary complexity. Experience from numerous flight hours forms an important basis for development.

The project

SkyMission was developed on a private initiative and is currently privately funded. Long-term development depends on future requirements, available resources, and user needs. Its future organizational or commercial structure deliberately remains open.

Transparency

SkyMission does not create official weather, map, geozone, or airspace data. Information from official or established external sources is brought together in one interface without replacing the underlying original or authoritative information.
